Growing Up

My girl Natalie Mae is 13 months old {Jan 17, 2015}! No longer a baby, but a little girl. It has been so fun watching her grow from her newborn stages to a toddler this past year. Her little personality has bloomed and is so cute. She has been a pretty happy baby.

13 Months 

A taste of our girl:

-Walks/toddles everywhere, is great with her balance.
-She likes to get clothes out from her dresser and try them on
-She loves books- especially her daddy's collection on the Library shelf in her room! Its fun to listen to her "read".
-Sadly to say she has grown accustomed to the things of this world for example: the iPhone-aka 'the screen'.  I tried to keep it away from her as long as I could. We have an old iPhone we use in her room for nighttime/nap music and sometimes she finds it and starts to poke and play with it. It's cute.
-She knows how to sit {and stand} in her little pink wooden chair.
- Gives kisses and hugs when we ask {mostly to just mom and dad}
- Listens to us if we say "can you give it to mommy/daddy" or "bring it here"
-Understand the word 'No', but doesn't always listen :)
- Plays and entertains herself
-Talks on the phone using her hand, toy telephone, shoe.. pretty much anything.
- Says words that could potentially be an actual word
- We gave her a drawer in the kitchen that is just her height and I think she is beginning to figure out  "in" and "out" she drops her socks, books and other toys in it and walks away, but always returns shortly after. So fun to watch!
- Uses a sippy cup, and knows how to drink out of it well and is doing better with water too which is  an accomplishment!
-Getting more hair {in the back} and her little cute curls.
-Loves all food. If there isn't a certain type of food she doesn't like I mix something else and she loves it! Squash isn't a favorite unless blended with applesauce.
-She likes to stand by the big backdoor and look outside. She stands there quietly soaking it all in.
-Sleeps mostly through the night, but has been waking up early like 3 or 4am,  I always rock her back to sleep.
-Likes to shake your hand. We recently taught her that one.
-Waves goodbye
-claps at herself knowing she did something good/right.



Favorite Toys:
Her Leap Frog Violet Dog. She loves to dance and move to her songs.
A light pink plastic soap
Stacking cups, specifically the red or purple ones (they are the smallest)
