Black Ruffles: New Purse

I was torn. I needed a pair of everyday sneakers quite soon, I mean there was a very possible-soon-to-be-hole at the bottom of my shoe. Then, at the same time I've been really wanting/needing a new purse as well. I knew though while I was browsing the stores that I could only really buy one item considering my budget. So, after pondering it awhile I knew the shoes were the most important. It is something I use quite frequently everyday!  ;) So, I told myself I would make my own purse. I've made only one before through a pattern, so I was confident that I knew what I was doing. I had a drive and a motivation to make it as soon as I could, since I really needed a change. Now the style is like the purse I have now but, a little shorter and cuter with ruffles!  I didn't go and buy new fabric since 1. I'm on a budget and 2. I was blessed on my birthday last year by a large box of fabric from a friend. So I actually ended up using a part of an old skirt {ruffles} and some strectchy black fabric {shoulder straps} from a gift I made for a friend for her bridal shower and last but not least, a soft pink fabric from my birthday.

I don't have pictures step by step to show you how I sewed my purse but, I do have my final product! So here it is.

 I made a two pockets out of one and I used a zig zag stitch.

 It turned out and I am well pleased.

I bought my shoes about a week and a half ago when the weather was being bizare with a mix of snow/rain and sun! Crazy Oregon! I made my purse just after I bought them and was done within a week. I was quite pleased and happy with how it turned out! It was rather easy, I was just pacing myself slow in case I got too excited and made huge mistakes I would regret later. I am known to do that; be excited and go ahead of myself. I am just glad in this life we have a God that loves us and even though we try to get ahead of Him sometimes, he doesn't get mad or angry but, reminds us who is in control and that we need to be patient!!  Sometimes when we wait, the plans turn out better...
